Methodology

How the
room votes.

  1. 01

    The real board

Each year starts from the actual two-round draft: every slot, the team that held it, and trade notes where a pick changed hands. Slots never move; only the players in them do. Teams are shown as letters, players as names. No logos, no headshots.

  2. 02

    Who is eligible

Every drafted player for that year, plus undrafted players an administrator has verified against cited sources. If a name is not in the pool, it is not verified yet. Each import is previewed, fingerprinted and audited; a year that is published or has votes is data-locked.

  3. 03

    Insertion, never swaps

Moving a player removes him from his spot and inserts him at the target, pushing everyone between down or up. Bringing in someone from outside the board pushes the final pick off into the pool. Drag, keyboard and the tap chooser all use the same single function, so every method behaves identically.

  4. 04

    Ballots are permanent

Publishing creates an immutable, signed version with its own link. Publish again and you get a new version; the old link still resolves exactly as it was. Your favorite team at publish time is snapshotted by the server, not taken from your browser.

  5. 05

    How consensus is counted

Only each fan's latest active valid version counts, once, with equal weight. For N slots, picks earn N through 1 points; eligible players absent from a ballot earn zero. We take the top N. Ties use first-place votes, then original draft position (undrafted last), then alphabetical name. Inclusion and No.1 percentages use matching active ballots as the denominator. This is fan opinion, not objective player value.

  6. 06

    Dates and fanbases

Both filters apply together to the latest active version's UTC timestamp and its submitted favorite-team snapshot. An older revision never re-enters a date range after a newer one replaces it. Today is your displayed timezone's calendar day, including daylight saving; 7/14/30 days are preceding 24-hour periods. Custom dates include both full local calendar dates. Favorite teams are self-reported, not verified allegiance. Zero votes means no ranking; 1–9 means early consensus with a small sample.

  7. 07

    What we do not do

No comments, no rationales, no likes, no invented votes. If a year has no ballots, consensus says so instead of guessing.

Enough reading. Fix a draft.
